Why I Still Buy Hot Wheels as an Adult

Now I know this is a full-on hobby that some people are neck deep in their collection of rare and beautiful tiny diecast cars. Hotwheels, I am definitely not a collector, I just buy them because they make me feel comfortable, and happy about myself. it’s that feeling where you like something, you want it, and you can easily buy it.

I started to buy them as a 30-year-old, about 5 years ago during the height of the covid19 pandemic. stuck in homes not knowing what would happen next was a nightmare.

one day, when I was in the supermarket I just saw this super cool-looking car. I believe it was the alfa Romeo gulia. I just picked it up got it home and started playing with it like a kid. I used to love these tiny virtually indestructible cars. I had loads of them. however, the ones I had were not the original hotwheels. the ones I had were cheap knockoffs. they were 10 rupees a pop as opposed to the 50 - 200 rupees a pop hotwheels.
